This is a project that I completed for my Composition and Visual Design class. We were challenged to shoot many different techniques including shallow and deep depth of fields, slow and fast shutters, portraits, and landscapes. The last assignment we were assigned was to shoot and edit a one minute short showing the process we take in creating a short film. Here is a sample of the work that I turned it. I shot all on my Sony PXW-FS5 with a 18-105mm lens.
"Critical Thinking"
This is myself standing in front of a black backdrop. I used a 3-point lighting. Here are settings that the camera was set to when I captured this image.

"Heads or Tails"
This is a shot of a quarter that was spun on its side. My camera was set to a fast shutter which allowed me to capture it at that perfect moment. I was a 3-point light kit set up.These are the setting that were on my camera to capture this photo.

"A Nerd's Corner"

"A Hockey Memory"
This shot was submitted to also show a shallow depth of field. This is the hockey puck that I scored with a Joe Louis Arena, home of the Detroit Red Wings, with my favorite hockey player, Nicklas Lidstrom, in the background. I used a light kit in this shot. Here are the camera setting.

"Grandpa's Lighter"
